Exactly, dirtbikes are geared to get up and go quick. After about a quarter mile you will get smoked by a car. Dirtbikes are not geared to go much more than 60 mph. Trust me, I have had plenty of 250's on the road in 5th gear pinned with buddies following me and we were only going about 70. There would be no point for a dirtbike to go 100+ and to claim that they can is rediculousnot to mention its easy to beat most cars up until the top speed of the bike on decent dirt bikes. (if rider knows what hes doing)
well it really depends. yes oil changes no later than 10 hours. A 125 piston will last about 20 hours if being rung out, 30-40 if ridden average, and probly 50-60 for trails. Leave a piston in too long and you get piston slap and eventually a broken skirt. a 250 2 stroke piston will last about 40-60 ridden moderately and maybe 70 trail hours. 500 pistons will last probly 100-200 hours but they dont tach over 6k rpmYou have to replace pistons for every 30-60 hours of use? And oil changes take 10 hours?
Really depends on how hard/often you ride it, I ride my play bike every day but only ride my real bike once a week for about an hour or so and not very long. Then again we have 5 bikes to chose from so its not too bad if you keep on top of it.ah. that still seems like a lot of maintenance.
FYI most 250 maintanence schedules call for a piston every 25 hours.well it really depends. yes oil changes no later than 10 hours. but you gotta remember 2 stroke piston kits cost 100 bucks and take an hour to replace
Personally I'm not sure if I would want to go any higher than 75 on a dirtbike, those nobies make it feel a little iffy. If i want to go faster than 75 i bust out the harley.Exactly, dirtbikes are geared to get up and go quick. After about a quarter mile you will get smoked by a car. thats being tached out all the time. you can easily get 40 hours out of them if your not bubba stewart. My crf250r calls for a piston every 15 hours, but at 40 hours it shows very little skirt wear. I replace them at 40-50 to be safe thoughFYI most 250 maintanence schedules call for a piston every 25 hours.
the rap 350 is a warrior with rap plastic. they are heavy and underpowered. looks like a 400ex would fit your needs pretty well, they are faster and lighter than a rap 350 and have proven reliability honda is known for. prolly can find a nice used one for around 2500.this is making me think twice about getting one...i was originally planning on buying a raptor 700 but i really dont want to spend 7000 bux on a quad...
do any of you have experience with the raptor 350? i dont need a super fast atv, but id like it to be decently fast and good on trails and half *** in mud and stuff like that...
i was just thinking about the dirt bike b/c it was cheap, but im used to riding atvs...
unless its a dual sport it might be geared high(actual not numerical) enough thenbullshit
u stfu douche i have a **** 400 ex that will run 90, its not all stock but a 2 stroke dirtbike will still eat it for lunch and yes it will go around 135 or 140 it might take it a while but it will do itHoly shit are you ****ing stupid? A dirt bike will not go 140 mph. There is no way a stock dirtbike will go that fast. n00b stfu.
well most that i have ridden have six gears so idk what youve been riding but w/eExactly, dirtbikes are geared to get up and go quick. After about a quarter mile you will get smoked by a car.
