i raced for 8 yrs and two stroke and 4 strokes are the same except 2 strokes have alot more zip and tend to get the holeshot in a race but as far as learning how to ride there isnt that much difference other than the 2 stroke will be a little faster but with that much power in a bike speed will be the least of you worries lol but as far as it not getting spark its most likely that coil but if you can get it 4 cheap id go for it and the bearings will be ok
Sorry to say it but you have no idea what you are talking about. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
I started out at 4 years old on a old pw50 now 19 racing 125A and 250A.
Through the years I've been in and out of differnt brands and raced for a dealership JT Motorsports with a full ride sponsorship. And you saying 2-strokes tend to get the holeshots and faster is completley false. Don't get me wrong they are both fast, but get real. In motocross 125(2s) races with 250(4s) and 250(2s) races with 450(4s). When compared on the dyno's they make about the exact same horsepower but your 4-stroke has a better torque curve. If 2-strokes were faster then the pro's would still be riding them. Look at ama motocross and supercross. There is not one 2-stroke on the field in either anymore.
But anyway to the OP, I'll help answer your question. 2-strokes are easier to work on. By dad has built my bikes motors and suspension sense I was on 85's. Only thing is you need to give me some more information. Is it the bottom end blew or the topend? What I'm asking is the motor locked up or no? When you push the kickstarter down does it go all the way through or does it come to a solid stop? If it will kick all the way through, it sounds like your topend just needs to be replaced.
Heres the first things I'd do.
A. Replace the plug and try that.
B. Check your connections make sure no wires got pulled out and cut.
C. Replace the topend. A top-end kit with the Wiesco piston and rings should be right at 99.00 for your bike if I'm not mistaking. Then you could get some good amsoil for under 12.00 and you will be set. Thats if you can do the job your self. It's very easy, if you have any machanical experience at all, only thing you will need to re-search is lining up the ring gaps. If you need help with that pm me.
If you need someone else to do it, don't go to the dealership. Find your local private motorcycle machanic. They should charge about $50. to $80. Considering
me or a good machanic could rebuild the topend of the motor in 45 minutes or less.
