Differance in battery colors???

wats the diff between red blue and yellow top? i heard red works best for single batt DD'd.... I DID SEARCH.

blue is marine

yellow(drk gray bottom) dual purpose starter/deep cycle

yellow(lght gray) deep cycle

i used to think the red top would be better too but from what i have seen people use thats not the case. in 1 or 2 battery set ups i see more people use the blue top with great success.

A deep cycle battery is one that can be discharged far down, and be able to be recharged...however, you trade instantaneous current draw for it, you don't have as many CCA. depends on what you are looking for. for regular "street use" reserve is better to have when you arent trying to squeeze out every .1 db. if you care to get ever last db out of your system then "burst" power is good just depends what you want.
