Determining fuse size?

Just makes it easier...
Well if that amplifier doesn't have onboard fuses and you tell him to fuse for his wire he could end up damaging the amplifier so maybe you shouldn't always take the easy route and just regurgitate information you've read on this board.

 
It's a Nakamichi PA-1002, I don't know whether it has built in fuses or not?

It's standard five gauge stranded copper wire, looks about like this (very right):

Then your amplifier probably doesn't have it's own fuses built in, meaning the size of the fuse you put in the power wire matters a lot more now. Do you have the manual for the amp? It would have a recommended size.
