Well I am going to be getting a jl w1 v2 15" and a kenwood 300 watt amp (weak I know but it's goin into my spare car and gettin it for $50. So I was wondering ported or sealed, I'm thinking ported because of the low wattage amp. So then what to tune it to? I am going to be making a box like shown(that was my 1st box for 2 12's, but would the l shaped port wall be better longer or short? As I know that has a big effect. Just going for decent sound as I know this prob wont rumble to much. I am thinking around 3 cubs. Input?

Ok found the specs for the sub it needs 2.75 ported. So still wondering what to tune it to. Lower in the 28 range or higher like 35 or so. Not really sure what would be best for this sub

might be better to cut round holes for round subs though.

I know that was just for an example of the design hopefully it will sound ok still can't decide to tune it high or low

Use this box calculator , get specs off of woofer, and for daily tune around 32-35hz and for comps around 40-45hz...

with your max dimensions and tuning you punch in #'s and it give you a basic slot port box and gives you a cut sheet as well...

Thanx I found that web page a while back,helped me build my last one couldnt of done it without it. Just what I was wondering would the higher tune sound decent? I guess I will just go with 35 or so since this is in no way a competition grade sub. Seems mid 30's it will be thanx guys
