I say half and half since Birch is a softwood and Fir is a hardwood. If you can afford it, go all Fir. Use 3/4" Fir for your average box, including baffle, provided you don't plan to recess your driver.hmmm really Ill have to try it
Eh? I got 3/4" Birch ply (both sides rough) for $25 a sheet. Are you thinking about the solid stuff?birch unfortunately happens to be twice the price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

cheap birch PLY is ~$40 a sheet around here. That's for the low ply stuff from Lowes... Hell MDF costs me more than $25 a sheet! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifEh? I got 3/4" Birch ply (both sides rough) for $25 a sheet. Sorry to hear about the high prices man. Consider using 3/4" Fir - expensive, but one layer is all you would need.cheap birch PLY is ~$40 a sheet around here.
