I have actually never had mine cut nor anyone who has but I am guessing due to the size probably not much longer than a couple of alarm cycles.

I couldn't get mine to work when I first installed it. I changed the battery to a larger battery that I got from an electronics store locally. Don't know how long it will last now, but at least it works. I think I put something in just under 2 amp hours.

I dont know if its true but my installer said it would be less than two minutes. He said a motorcycle battery would be more efficient that this...

That I can believe. I would also agree that a motorcycle battery would be better.

i killed my battery on my car and the alarm was still working off the battery backup about a month later, but then another time something happened it only worked for like 10 min.

Heck, I use my 2nd car audio batt (Stinger SP1700 Power2dB) as a back up battery for the alarm.

You can also use home security back up batteries with more Ah than the 0.7 of the DEI 520T.

* If you notice on the 4Ah is also states 20HR. If that means 20 hours, I would say the 0.7Ah of the DEI 520T would be about 2 to 3 hours, possibly up to 5 hrs.

I have not personally used one, but I don't see why not. They are the same as the DEI 520T, but just more Amp hours.
