Deep and Low Subs

i went to a local audio store, and not to sh*t on anyone but the guy said that anything above twelves are too flexible and flex too much giving them less of a pure sound, and if i get two 12's they won't be mediocre i want everything to be as nice as it can get

well see my goal is to have the nicest system in my town or out of my friends, theres plenty of people that have loud ones, and still have stock speakers that are blown, i want to be the loudest i can be without any distortion, and i want to be able to hear the lyrics so if i wanted to turn around and listen to something vocal it would sound sweet too if i shut the subs off or turned them down, so i want lots of power and nice low and all around great sounding subs but then again id rather have clarity than loudness, however i deffinately want them to thump

subs has nothing to do with soundquality in an street beater. u hear people say the RE MTs sound like shit. but then those same people hear someone setup like Chirstian-redbaron80 or steve meade they go back on there word. its all dependant on ur frontstage.

Tell the guy he's wrong. TS parameters are important when it comes to sound, not cone size. If you want 12's and low end extension, check out Alpine Type X.

hahah he says kenwood is up and coming in terms of decks and he said that kickers and jl audio are leading in subs right now, but i always thought kicker was more of a walmart brand, haha i think ive got my sh*t confused

I might agree that their head units are, but their subs and speakers (low to mid end anyways) are still solid, and are in some cases getting better. Not sure about amps ive never had an alpine amp.

But the alpine type x is definitely a good choice if you want fairly loud subs with solid bottom end. but as was stated before, the box you use is gonna play the biggest part here.
