So my friend decided to run four CVR 12s in sealed boxes in the trunk of his accord. The problem is all four won't fit properly, all facing up. So there was some improvisation by firing two into the cabin and the other two firing up. I was just wondering if this will affect how it'll sound, if any.

And yes, I do realize that by stuffing four in there it'll be worse off since the woofers can't really move any air inside that overcrowded trunk. But hell, it's his car.

Simple logic tells us wave interaction affects sound perception. So clearly facing 2 in different directions will alter wave interaction, and thus affect perceived sound. If you are asking me to predict the outcome, that's impossible. All I can tell you is yes, it can make it sound different.

sounds like cancellation issues... me personally, i keep it simple. that way, if something goes wrong, it's SO much easier to narrow down the problem, and of course i dont have to worry much about cancellation. i would advise u give your friend the same advice...
