I'm planning on putting two 12 inch subs in a ported enclosure in the back fo my extended cab truck, and i had been looking at the jl audio w3's however i was reading that they dont hit as low as people would like? opinions? so now im looking for somethign else to research, i want overall great sounding subs no more than 250 a piece but i deffinately want them to be able to hit lowww, help

If you dotn have enough room to build a propper ported box than they are definitly not gonna "hit low"

1.How much room do yuu have - max external dimensions

2. How much you want to spend on power, after 1500-2k rms you are gonna want extra battery and Ho alt.

3.1 hdc3 15" on 2k in a 4.5 ported at 38hz thats the answer.

Llook all over these forums ther are no less than 5 people with the exact same question right now, just read and read and make your own dcision, listen to as many systems as you can.

well, i have the room to build a proper ported box, however i do not know the dimensions, but i know i can fit two twelves, and yeah i figured there was quite a few with the same question but i wanted to start my own so i could ask specific questions, thanks for the help though, and do you think its hard to make a box, i mean i figured a box would come out better if i made it but is that not true?

hahaha, not going any higher than 12's. no room, and just a personal preference, does anyone have the jl audio w3's by any chance?
Those are great subs, but dont limit yourself. There are plenty of other great manufacturers and companies out there that will offer the same great performance for less $$

im not sure what i would be paying, when the time comes that i decide to buy them after i've researched enough, i figured id look around for the cheapest price, and somewhere on another forum somebody said they sound excellent but they don't hit as low as they would like, ill have to look up the frequency specs for them, im planning on putting about 1500$ into my audio system, thats including 4 door speakers that are also ampd.

the problem is that im skeptical on buying from brands that i haven't heard of, i feel like i only know the major ones i guess though, id never heard of the rd audio

I think u can fit 1 18 in ur truck. personally id just get 1 Kick *** 18 vs 2 medicore or crappy 12's not bashing any companys i personally have an JL w3 10 now and i love it. if it were me id do i 18 tuned 30hz 5-8 cubes thats jjust my opinion u can get serious lows from 18's i dont think id ever go back to 15's-12's-10's again. EVER! lol
