decent subs with decent amp?

1-2 years I pruchase some PG comp and 4 channel kicker amp(forgot which model), was running a 12' Cervin Vega subs. Blah blah

Now its time for me to move up a little bit. I'm more or a quality person. I just purchase Hertz Hsk 165 comp and Sundow sax 125-2 amp.

I now need some subs to complete this setup. The CV was a nice clear subs to listen too but it wasn't to loud for my taste. Anyone can recommend me a sub and amp that best bang for the buck? I want to keep it under 300 range.

Probolly 2 10'.

I talked to my friend and he said I didn't need the amp for the hertz. I could have power it from my HU and it would sound nice already. He said anything above 60w to a speaker will start to distort? Am I'm wasting my money or.....?

your friend is full of crap. you will want an amp for the comps.

I prefer the front amped and the stock rears hu powered and faded to the front except when passengers are present.
