Decent gaming CPU

Well, I ended up saving a ton of cash and went with a prebuilt laptop. The only reason being I love my current laptop and this was just an upgrade for under $600

Toshiba P105-S9312

Intel Core Duo Processor T2500E 2.0ghz

1024 MB RAM

120 GB Hard Drive 4200RPM

Nvidia GeForce Go 7900gs graphics card with 256 MB of dedicated RAM

Software Included: Windows XP Professional Edition, SP2

Adobe CS2 which includes: Adobe Designer 7.0, Adobe GoLive CS2, Illustrator CS2, Image Ready CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, and Acrobat 7 Professional

Microsoft Office 2002 which includes: Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Now the processor may be a core duo and not a core 2 duo...but when you compare the 1.66 I have now and the 2.0 that one has its still faster and works better with overclocking.

The hard drive will be replaced with a 7200rpm 100 Gb seagate drive.

The ram is cheap, so Ill just put 2gb or so in there.

Didn't read the thread.. But looked at some of your prodects...

First.. Different PSU..

second.. different graphics card.. If you are going 8series get the 8800 otherwise get like a 7900GT

tsk tsk...bought a laptop. I may be coming in to DFW this weekend. Doug bought all of my wire. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Ill be here and I dont think I have to work. I wanted to keep my laptop and basically a $2000 laptop for $600 I couldnt complain.

And it will run any game I play //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The newer Core 2 Duos are faster than the old ones (i.e. T5300) and, I find they're about 10-15% faster clock-for-clock than the Core Duos ...
Cool, cool thanks for the info. Youre talking about the Santa Rosa Chipsets correct? I believe they are T7xxx?

I was looking at those...

The T5300 has a slower FSB, slower L1/L2 cache performance, and poorer performance w/ various instruction sets (i.e. SSE) than the newer Core 2 Duos of similar clock speeds, plus most newer laptops have the Santa Rosa chipsets, which have features to increase peformance more.
