Deadening the Rear Deck

I have a MazdaSpeed6 and am going to try to deaden the rear deck. I had a 6 previously and had a total of 4 layers of Dynamat on it. It still rattled and shook like nobody's business. I am wondering what else I can do-reinforce it and how to do it. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

duct tape ftw?

Yeah, foam between the plastic trim panel and sheet metal is going to be your best bet. A little bit of vibration damper on the sheet metal will help but isolation is key. Rear decks are notorious problems. Not only do you have the plastic and sheet metal in contact with each other but quite often all sorts of other rattly things are mounted there - seat belt reels, 3rd brake lights, trunk lid lift springs and on and on. You really need to address each source.

More powerful amps and bigger subs to overcome the nose problem of the vehicle. This what car audio "competition" is all about, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I heard James Bang uses the flesh of baby seals to kill rattles in his car. There's something just not right about that...............

.....I mean you'd want to use the muscle tissue because it has more mass, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif:confused://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif We're talking mass loaded deadner > all.
