dead channel?

hi guys/gals.. i am running a soundstream reserve 4500-d in my 2015 sentra. my problem is the left rear channel is not playing sound. i am using my factory hu and have 2 locs installed behind hu for front and rear channels and i also installed 1 loc for sub. i had to wire the loc for the subs into the rear speaker wires. i have redone complete wiring and did a big 3 install. i redid all connections 3 different times with 3 different connectors types, to make sure i was getting good connections. ended up with butt connectors to make sure i got a good bite on wires. everything is tight and solid. in order to get sound to rear speakers, i just used the right rear to power the rear deck speakers. can someone give advice on maybe where i messed up or is this just a bad amp and i need to return it to crutchfield. any help is much appreciated. thanks

If you have a multimeter, probe the rear channels on the amp screws. Set multimeter to A/C volts. If no multimeter, do it with a speaker.
am i touching probe to plus and negative, or plus to ground and then neg to ground? if so, what reading should i be getting. first time install for me, so i am a newbie.
