Dead battery?

Just took out the front battery after autozone said it was dead. Use DIM to read the batt and it reads between 12.4-13. It's a Kinetik HC1400.

that doesn't mean its still good what does it drop to when you put a load on it such as starting your vehicle

it's out of my car now. was running below 12 when base hits but that doesn't really tell anything. he checked the front and back batteries when car was on few days ago. test came out that front was bad and rear was still good. i just got a batcap 4000 in trunk, and i think my voltage still drops a bit on high vol since there's still a little dim(not as bad without the batcap). now im wondering if it's my current hc1400 or the alternator(still new, just purchased from DC).
