Ok this is kinda wierd. I was working with my girlfriend on putting deadener on her rear dash/trunk and we had the music playing for a good 3-4 hours. Well the battery was pretty much completely depleted and so we had to jump start her civic. well for the last two days her car either will start after a bunch of tries or wont start at all. What is z problem?

what year civic? if it's an 88-91 you likely have a bad main relay. with they key on, pull back the passenger side carpet and count the flashing led- if it flashes 16 (1 long 6 short) you need a main relay and the battery issue was coincidence, now if it's newer and cranks fine but doesn't start, there are a ton of other things it could be. Give me more info and I'll do my best to help- I work on Hondas for a living.

thank you. Yeah its a 2002 Civic EX. Thats about all i know, havent been to to car since working on it 2 days ago. She didnt tell me any specifics. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I would say its the battery, usually when you deplete a stock battery, it never holds 100% charge again. You can try takin gthe batt out and put it on a charger also, the alternator is not meant to recharge a battery fully, only to keep a constant charge for the amount of current going through the vehicle.

Can you explain more on the charger. Is it something i can buy at some auto parts place or get some shop to do for me? Shiddy, but hey i was thinking of getting her a new battery anways since, shes finally going to have Subs. Only a 500 watt system but still.

yea you can goto auto zone for a battery charger or pep boys. Most parts stores will have one, i dont know how much they cost cause well i never bought one, its my dads lol. I bought a yellow top and i love it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Only have 2 of the 3 big 3 upgraded(the grounds) and i get no dimming, well unless i pu tit all the way up on a low bass song.Even then its very little.

also check to see if the battery posts are corroded or not, if they are poor some coke on em, it will clean it right up(no joke). If not those 2 things then i'm out of ideas.

ps no problemo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Deep cycle batteries will solve that problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've run my Yellow Top down to 9V, and after jumping it has never had a problem again...regular lead acids will die if you do that to them.

black coffee works even better to clean off corrosion, just pour it on and rinse w/water- but do it in the street so you don't stain your driveway.
didnt know coffee worked also!! you learn something new everyday. I stained my parents new paver driveway with silicone for tires 4500 bucks later they are a little mad at me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif so yea dont do i ton the driveway parents dont like that haha
