Dead Battery or dead something else?

Ok so I have a 1995 VW Golf with a stock alt. and I have the big 3 done in 4 gauge. I also did an extra ground while doing the big 3. Anyways to the question. I used to use my Power Acoustik TS1920 amp only using one channel and my Orion 4002 using only one channel again. Well, I removed the Power Acoustik amp and have only been using the Orion and it's now bridged and doing I think 400 wrms. The question is sometimes I have a hard time starting and sometimes it won't start. Everything turns on it just won't even turn over. The battery is an el-cheapo from Walmart still under warranty. So does it sound like bad battery or something else?

could be the batt is bad or the alt or the amps dont shut off when the car is off.

The amps do shut off...how would a alternator stay on if the car is off? I mean they are belt driven off of the crankshaft.

Battery or something is draining your system. Check that nothing is drawing voltage when your system is off.

battery is usually the first offender and/or the starter could be going.

test with a friends battery first to see if you don't have much in the way of amps in your battery, wet-cells once drained can suxor.

A good dry-cell would be a good long-term decision.

dude it is the battery i just got rid of my exide orbital. holds 12.8-13 volts on idle. try to start the car it it jumps down to like 9-8 volts

went to a 34 optima and as soon as i put it in 12.6 idle and then only 11.8 while startin

if the alt isnt charging the battery or hasnt in a long time the battery could just be dead from that. best thing to do is get it tested. at most places anymore (autozone and the like) its free
