DD 3500 break in

I just got my new dd 12 3500 yesterday and love it. But i want to know my limits till its broken in. Its powered by a kicker dx 1000 watt amp at 2 ohms. The gain and bass boost is at half way. My head unit is a jvc single din radio ( about 80 buck for it). About what volume can i play it at till the breakin period is over? The guy at the local car audio shop said that my amp is not really enough power for it completely but said it will still clip if i dont be careful.

if you can hear it its to loud. play at volume 1 for six months then ask again.

Slam away, I wouldn't worry about it as long as you have your gains set right.

↑ What Ace said... with emphasis on gain settings. "Half" way tells us nothing about whether not your gains are set safely for the amp/head unit combo you're running.

Turn the bass boost OFF!!!! You should not be breaking that sub with 1000W

Ah... well, you're a minute or two away from me then. ;-)

And sadly, just because a shop set it up doesn't mean it's set correctly. Ask them what test equipment they used to set it.
