DD 2512 sealed?

Well i didnt make that connection so if u were good job lol i just did a search and found ppl have problems with spiders tearing thus this thread was made.
That is the solo classic 12, but there referbs on ebay for only 140shipped a pop. I saw other listing of them for like 270, i was also wondering if a type-r 12 would be better or worse in a small sealed box then the classic
id pick up that kicker first but look at that mach5 in the classifieds much much better sub if it isnt blow

I had a Kicker Solo Classic 12 d2 in 1.2 sealed with a layer of fiberglass resin inside hooked up to a Crunch p1500.1 @ 1 ohm. It lasted about 6months but that was back before I knew bass boost was bad and was a little generous with the gain setting. It had decent sq and got down pretty low. The resin inside helped make the box super rigid. I paid 170 for it from sonicelectronix right when they came out. They raised the prices on them so I would say its not worth it unless you can get one for under $150. If you are willing to spend a little more $, the Boston SPG 555 is great in sealed boxes and gets pretty loud too.

DD subs use relatively short coils, it may distort with a bit of power sealed. You can put it in a small sealed enclosure but that dosn't mean it's going to sound great(however, the 2500 honestly don't have as low a Q as you would expect[you will find if u test them]). Using a loaded enclosure for them is good for power handling and beeing easy on them so them excursion wise. Ported enclosures really aren't that different from sealed anyway as ported enclosures act sealed aswell in the upper range until they get down to the range of loading.
