7 15" dvc4 box designing driving me crazy

Ok, Ive been running a 5.8776 ft3 for my sub. didnt really plan out the port tuning, just threw it together. But now ive been messing around with a new design that has rounded edges instead of the plain old 90 angles. The problem I having is deciding what to tune my port to. first was thinking 32 but then 29. Im known for having king kong on the block but the punchy bass isnt where i want it, but dont wanna loose too much of the low freq i have. I have a durango so space is not an issue.

Im going with the full 6ft3 plus whatever the port will be. whats the best port tune for the L7 15??

Bout to sell and just buy 2 12's lol

There is absolutely no substitute for building new boxes and changing tuning to test for yourself.

I do suspect you would be surprised what frequencies actually are that you think are 20hz or whatever you're considering porting down to.

Make a removable port. Then you can mess with the tuning all you want. That would be fun. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Easy solution: buy three 4" aeroports from partsexpress.com, along with some extra thin wall PVC, and then test out different tunings with ease.

Another option, add a 10 or 12 for punch. I had a pair of RF 18's that would rumble for miles, sealed or ported, but no kick. Added a pair of kicker 12's sealed and WoW, night & day. Actually improved the sound quality too.
