DC level 4

Building a system for a buddy to run in Rookie 2 next year and need some help with recommendations (mainly for the brands we are choosing within)

Found a good set of DD 3512's for $600 in next to new condition. Second we found a nice pair of DC level 4's. He will be probably running them off of a VFL 150.1.

Do you guys think DC subs can take the abuse for a few more years and can get as loud as the DD's? Ive never messed around with any DC products before so it is beyond me.

The reason I ask is because the DC's are for 1/2 the price of the DD's.

I know a lot of people on here are all about brands but I wanna know about the hardware match up. Better parts, etc. I don't care about the name or brand.
If you're in the TNESPL rookie classes you're limited to 2KW and most likely won't blow up any pair of 3" coil 12" woofers that are halfway decent made. I suspect either is capable of getting loud, but I feel that DD uses supperior softparts. If the price differrence is a hundred bucks I'd go with the DD, if more it's probably not worth that much more IMO.

There is an un-branded 2K amp on here (title of the thread is Zenon amp). Same board as the DC PAI2000 /Sundown 2K, etc. That amp is beast at .5 ohm and did me very well in that class.

You think that those DD's can continue to run in woofer cooker classes the following year and still survive the beating?

I've seen 2510s in WC class. Really to be competitive in the big events you'll need to tune high and design around burp only. In those applications LV4 or 3512 should hang. For driving around town banging all day, 5K is a lot of power and you would need to be careful about mechanical and thermal limits. Really IMO the battery limits in that class limit how long you can safely play a 5K amp anyway.

If you have the room and really want to be able to play all day at 5K without having to worry too much, just get a third sub, I think you'd have to be really careless to blow up either LV4 or 35XX with 1500W.

Ok, for the price he can get 2 sets and have 2 backups or run 3 with one for backup. I like the idea of running 3. Thanks man just hope he will have enough room
