What do you mean by no sound ? Is it that you cant get the RCA's to work or are you trying to hook up regular speakers to the head unit and there is no sound?

The first. This cd player has no amp.You need an external amp.

I thought I might have posted this earlier, but here is a link to a service center that USED TO service Alpines. They MIGHT have some parts left over. All you can do is ask.

They had previously fxed my 7909.

I tried them already, they said no.

All I can say is, Hang in there. There has to be someone that might still have the part. I took me two years to find changer cartridges that fit my 5959. And, I had as hard a time finding the contoller cable. But, I did find them. If you only need that one part, it will be worth it. It just might take a while.

The problem is that I dont exactly know if thats the only part that is needed.

The shop I took it to, I didnt really feel satisfied with them.

Im getting a second opinion from another shop as we speak.

ok so you're RCA's are out. Thats a motherboard pre-out circuit issue. probably the SMT type FET or diodes are crispy.

Yea, but the good news is those parts are off the shelf items. The guy who repaired mine replaced all the descreet components while it was there for a cd transport.
