Yes I searched... Some say that they dont do what they are rated for and others say they do over what they advertise. I think I'm going to take a chance and get a 140 amp unit. I wont be running alot of power anyway. What I didnt find in my search is how dependable these units are? Anyone have a DB electrical alt for an extended period? Are they reliable? Lets hear your experience with their alts..

i was gona get there 200 amp alt for my 1999 ford escort. they are alot less then other ho alts.

a few guys on here are running there alts. there kinda over rated they dont put out what they say they do at 1200 rpm from what i heard.

my buddy just bought a DB 200 amp alt for his tahoe and he is still having dimming issues after Big 3 in 1/0, and the Alt and he's only running a Hifonics Bxi1608D

i think its not putting out near rated

I've heard that they do and that they dont...so I'm going to get one and test it. My main concern is reliability. Thats why I wanted to ask since all of the threads I have read were over a year old.

they are ok , of you alt doesnt do rated , send i back and they will upgrade you for free

its kinda like u get what u pay for. i dont know if your gona go crazy and think u can run like a hugh *** system i would not go with that alt. there not many reviews on the net for the Db electrical

i bought one tested it then returned it wasted my time. I had it tested the 200 amp put out 150 at 3000 rpm and i think 55 at idle so it was an improvement over stock but not worth it compared to a custom case from some place like mechman or any place that can give you a large case unit that will fit your car with brackets. If you get DB you might as well go local rewind place and get one that way. Ok, I've decided that I rather go ahead and do it right the first time. I've read mixed reviews on EA. Both those companies DB and mechman are in TN, are they close to you?
