D Class amp bad for subs ?

i was reading some literature...and it said that D class amps anre not good for playing subs

it said that after a while....the amps tend to play distortion into the subs...which causes the voice coil to blow

they recommended class AB amps

is this true ?

what are your thoughts ?

Distortion doesnt blow speakers TOO MUCH POWER DOES

Maybe Image Dynamics is on crack, but almost every manufacturer has a 1000+ watt class D amp in their line-up .... The most popular sub amps are Class D ... I don't think you're going to drive anything but subs with over 1000 watts ... And Class AB amps are usually below 1000 watts because of the high cost to get them to produce that power with low distortion ...

US Amps has the 1000X and the 2000X...all class AB amps...they DONT make D class amps

so i guess if u want real clean power u gotta pay for it huh ?
