hey if your going for the opteron 144, why dont you just get a X2 or a 165... the prices on them drop so much lately, i need to build my computer...165 is an overclockers dream:gism:

I'm sure Prod know this but had to get it out there. Bests site ever if anyone want to build a computer cheap as possible. Has prices from over 1000's of companys including newegg which is always decently priced. Yeah I definitely use Pricewatch, but make sure you check out who you're buying from on resellerratings.com before you send them your money. As far as the Opteron 165 & X2 go, as with the cases, it's going to be "a gametime decision" based on what I can get for the money he has to spend. As I told Jeeper, I'm gonna build this thing as if I were building it for myself....so, obviously if I can get a 2gb kit of good OCing RAM for $150, then that is where the cash is going. It's all about spending the money in the right place when you have it.

As I said before, he doesn't plan on doing any gaming so I'm just gonna get him a little $35 X300se to handle basic stuff & lesser games, should he decide to throw a couple in there.

Had a couple nice grabs today with that hard drive & an AMD Opteron 144 that overclocks to 2.8Ghz on stock cooling, while passing Prime95 without errors. Not a bad day for spending less than $200 shipped.
