Where to draw the line?

Hey guys.

I, like many of you, i'm sure, share an apartment with a roomate.

We're good friends, and all, but lately he's been going to the bars a ton, and is currently behind about $213 in bills.......

I'm having a hard time deciding when to draw the line between 'well, get it as soon as you can' and unleashing a can of whoopass on him, or telling him to move out.

I know those of you without a roomate will instantly say "kick his ***" but those of you in a similar situation will know it's more complicated than that.

Just looking for some advice.

He only works a few days a week, and is a full time student, so i don't really know what to do.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

...And to make matters worse, he's holding me back from buying my new subs.... THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

i don't feel right making a rash decision based on this, tho, obviously quite selfish, considering i work full time and he's just a student.

personally i would confront him and not make posts on the internet behind his back

man up

ive had a roomate before and whenever there is tension its best if its said and not kept building

I assume you mean he's spending ALL his money at the bars and what not. Well, if he's just a student and he's spending every last bit of money on booze, then he needs a reality check anyways. Confront him once or twice. Then if the money doesnt show, then the can of whoopass.

no, i'm not going passive aggressive, i've been after him to go to the bank, but every day he makes excuses, and i'm not about to kidnap him and MAKE him go to the bank. i shouldn't have to be his mom

definitely not a 'secret'

i just don't know when to make a dead set ultimatum, and make the rest of our lease ackward as shit

it's just hard to draw the line between 'buddy' and tenant

If you've already started hassling him for his rent and it hasnt shown yet...well, you just need to tell him to fork out the money for he's going to be out on his *** for a while.

Hit him up on payday...BEFORE he goes out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

he was supposed to at least have this month's rent with him today, but he hasn't showed up yet.

and his mom was gonna send me a check, cause he had no money, but i never got the check, either. he's home during the day, he probably stole it.

I honestly don't know what the **** is going on.

Yeah, thats a good one...

if he doesnt pay tell him to move out cause you cant pay the bills for the both of ya.Tell him you dont have enough money anymore to deal with his antics .

If he was a friend he wouldn't put you in this situation to begin with....

Draw the line and see what happens...He'll payup cause that bit of money is not worth the hassel of finding a new place...
