I am thinking of going to an active 3-way setup. I have some speakers coming to play around with. I don’t have anyway of high passing my tweeter at the moment because my amps are only good for high passing the midrange.
I do have a 2-way crossover that I can use for the tweeter but I would run the woofer active. Can I use the crossover just for the tweeter without using the woofer on it?? Or does this change the impedance for the tweeter as well. As far as I can tell, I can treat the tweeter circuitry as completely separate from the woofer since they are run in parallel.
Could someone verify this for me? I will build my own high pass filter for the tweeter if I can’t do this.
Thanks
