I have been studying car audio for a while now. i already have an electrical engineering background and i was looking to start to build my own circuits (possibly for sale if i can perfect some circuits). the plan is to start with crossovers and then work up to amplifiers. so, why would someone want to buy crossovers from me rather than some other company? well first off, i plan on hand soldering everything and buying the highest of quality components to yield a very accurate and long lasting crossover.
so i post this thread to ask of your experienced opinions. what do you like and dislike in the crossovers youve used in the past? what would you like to see in a crossover? be specific and give make and model if possible.
i thought id start with a simple passive crossover then move into more complex active crossovers. starting with 2 way, then a 3 way. im kinda thinking of an EQ-crossover combo unit. a crossover with some flexibility of a EQ. i like the idea of phase toggle and independent gain control. im currently looking into the electronic digital crossovers that audiocontrol has...
