My buddy wants me to help him with a new system. His budget is right about $1000. This is what I came up with, just want some suggestions.

HU: Pioneer premier 590ib

Front stage: Pioneer Premier PRS 6 1/2

FS AMP: Infinity Reference 7541a 111x4 @4

Subs: Kicker comp cvr 10"s 2ohm dvc (mega cheap right now)

Sub amp: Hifonics Titan TXi 7506 Hifonics Titan TXi 7506 (750wx1@1ohm)

Thats coming in right about $900 plus wires etc. I will build him a ported box. It'll prob be around $1200 after all is said and done but I told him it would be an awesome setup.

He may in the future, I'm not sure. But I was going to biamp those front speakers, or just leave the other 2 channels open for some rears when/if he gets some. He has some basic pioneers in there right now, so that would be enough for the rear fill for the passengers. What 2 ch would you recommend for those PRS's?

Thanks, I might do that to keep the budget down a little (i am going a couple hundred over budget even with those cheap CVRs). He has a caprice which has 4x6's up front. Anyone ever do an install like that where you had to fit 6 1/2s in it, what were the biggest hurdles to get over?

you are gonna have to use some kind of universal kick panel or pod for the door
Or just build a custom kickpanel. I know wiring will add a lot but for what he's getting, its hard to beat for $100-1200. No one can recommend anything better for the dollar than those? I've heard nothing but good things about those PRSs but no place in town has them on display. Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.

It's probably very similar to my Achieva, and most all other 90s GM vehicles. There is a large plastic baffle/housing holding the 4x. When this is taken out there is plenty of room for a 6.5, but you need to build an MDF baffle. If that is not possible at all, someone on ebay sells these plastic adapters, but I can't find the link because I trashed it after realizing that MDF is 10x better than plastic. Way less resonance.

Great, thats awesome to know. Im not charging much at all (prob a couple blunts of kush) and I really don't want to spend 20hrs having to build custom shit just to get some speakers to work. Hopefully it won't be too bad. Appreciate everyones input.

GREAT!!! Not really........ hmmmm. I should've known that considering I had an 86caprice with plate speakers in the dash back in the day. I will figure something out. Thanks for the heads up jdawg
