Critique My First System

After a long time of searching, reading, and deciding I think I have finally came up with the system that will fit my needs. My goals are to have a nice sounding, loud, and bassy system within a $600 budget including shipping. I would like to have some opinions on it. My system is as follows-

Head Unit = Pioneer DEH-5800MP

Amp = Profile AP1200

Subs = Dual 12" Memphis 15-PR124D

Box = Custom built box. It is 3.5 cu ft tuned to between 38-40hz. Pics = http://dillusionz.com/gallery/fiberglassbox

Amp Kit = Power Acoustik 4 Gauge Amp Kit

I am still not finalized on my system and suggestions will be considered.

Then in my personal opinion that is an incredibly weak system.
I don't drive around listening to test tones and the music I do listen to is comprised of more than just bass. Why in the world wouldn't you do a front stage at all?
my fronts are stock and they keep up fine with my 2 L7's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif i listen to everything from techno to country

other than not having a frontstage its pretty god. go get a small 2 channel matching profile amp like the 50x2@4 one (600AP iirc?) and a pair of power acoustic\alpine type r comps and it will sound alot better for a first system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I agree with the others. I would suggest that you do the front stage first if expense is a concern. If not then do it very soon after you put the bass in there. I like to hear the music, all of the music, and if you do as well then to then I think it will be difficult to get a musical sensation with all that bass IMO.

A pair of OEM GM paper-cone 3.5" dual-cone speakers keep up with a pair of L7s, eh?
I weep for that install.

Nothing wrong with stock speakers lol, i have two 4x6's and a 15 XXX lol. My MB's got stolen a while back from the doors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I've owned many GM products that used 3.5" full-range, paper-cone drivers in the factory dash locations.

None of them sound good (that specific size in that particular mounting)

Putting even 18 or 20 watts worth of aftermarket head unit power into them only exacerbates the problem. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
