Creepy Install on a V6 Eclipse...

This is a classic eample of why not to go to a big box store to get your stereo installed.I think the OP should be laughing at himself for posting this as if it were a funny story about a car he worked on and not over look the fact that it reflects poorly on his skills as an installer as well as furthering the reasons to never take your vehicle to a Big box company.

Sad part is Best Buy actually hires people like this, and I can't even get a job there and I'm certified! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

ok op you ****!
i as well am an installer and i know for a fact that it is not the customers job to get the radio code no matter what. Even if you didnt cause the radio to code its nothing a few phone calls and some information cannot cure especially with mitsubishi.
very true.. just good services is all that is.. take care of the customer and they will take care of you... just gose hand in hand

You would cost them money.

A monkey off the street works for peanuts.

yea right those ****ers wanted 80 bucks for my gf's code. i told them to **** off.

may have been just the dealer you called...ive gotten several from dealers around here fre of charge with just a phone call
well its all good, i mean i just installed a aftermarket cd player i bought for 100 bucks for her. i figured i would rather have a pioneer cd player for 100 bucks than a factory mitsubishi for 80 bucks.

Hell, the last time I went to a Best Buy was just tagging along with a friend that needed to buy a radio adapter, after sending us outside the install bay they conveniently forgot to unlock the door...very nice.

You left out the part about not giving us the right chit, and having to call another installer that was off , but happened to be in the store shopping. to come help his retarded arse find the right parts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Bingo.

Kind of similar: A while back I applied for seasonal part time work at a BB for computer repair (pre-geek squad era) and the manager said I was overqualified. I asked him point-blank what he meant by that and his only reply was "you're not the type of candidate we're looking for."

I think I know why...I've know a couple people that worked at the CompUSA here and were fired for doing a good job (highest amount of systems worked on, but lowest returning customer business). They actually fix the problem, the customer doesn't need to come back, thus the company doesn't make any more money from said customers and the managers don't like that.

holy FCUK

reading > you

how many times did i say i didnt install anything

w.e tho i hate BBY in no way am i defending them

i get paid really good for being part time and get 32 hours every week so i cant complain.

trust me BBy is not ethical at all. they screw over anybody they can, just to make a buck

dont hate me for it.

and even if i worked at another shop you would talk shit about that shop.

but again I DID NOT INSTALL IT. i was simply told by my manage to

act like i was "re doing the install" to make sure nothing awkward happened.

and the only thing i didnt do was check the ground...why,,, iran out of time

They would have to pay you too much.

Actually, reading your original post you wouldn't get that impression at all...

while i ran the power cable down the drivers side my other installer is doing the ground.( i dont know where he put the ground keep in mind)

after the ground was done he ran the rca's and i put the radio console back together.

while doing the Inline Converter we unplugged the factory amp and the radio lost power, and needed a code.

after the install was completly done. i told the young lady that she needed to get the code from a Mitsu dealer and come back with it so i can program it in for her.
How much do you think i make being part time?
Not enough to care //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

With that level of service, you're right, I would.

installing>you

YOU said, you took out the seat put in a inline converter, removed the radio and connected a remote wire, while the other guy installed the ground(18in of wire) YOU ran the power wire(15-20ft of wire),then you put the radio console back together. After that YOU are the one who talks to the customer. That sounds like YOU did the install to me!But now that everyone is reaming your *** for the horrible job YOU did you want to make it sound like you only had a little part in it.REREAD your orignal post my friend case it SOUNDS an awfull lot like YOU did the sh!tty install.
