Creepy Install on a V6 Eclipse...

to some all this up

1) it was never my appiotment.

2) i didnt do any extreme work to it

2a) liek i said before Power wire-remote turn on-and removed seat

i didnt even connect the amp.

about the car being in an accident.

---> if the driver door was hit which it was. thats a deffinite. it is very possible that wires got pinched and grounded out. relaying those issues to the fuse box then relaying them to the rest of the car.

------>i never said that was the problem, only a possibilty.

--------> it does not pop when the car is off. it only pops while the car is ON and the radio is OFF. when the radio is ON the poping in nonexsistant. EXPLAIN THAT. it HAS to be an issue with the car NOT the install (which i did NOT do)

about me giving advice.

---> i never did(install wise)

-----> look at my last few threads, its me asking for it not giving it.

"Even if you don't, you don't just leave the vehicle and say "i'll wait till friday noon, the car should be there. Ever think if the lady needed her car? As someone else mentioned, you should tell your manager what happened and it is your responsibility to let someone know, because your company is responsible for the car. Your manager decided to have you guys work on it, and he can't and nobody can't return the car half-assed. And BB audio employees wonder why they get so much hate."

1)well to bad if she needed it she has no clutch left. no clutch no drive.

2) i did tell my manager, we all did. he knows.

"BB employees don't know shit...seriously, I have gone there a couple times and I've asked simple question and people couldn't help me on numerous occasions with different reps each time. I've had much better luck at Circuit City, yet I wouldn't have them touch my car since I can do it myself or with the help of friends."

THATS A VERY DRASTIC STATEMENT. I know plenty of guys that work in computers that would make you look lieka tool when talking about them. most of the geek squad agents are brillant.

it differs from store to store.

ijust got off the phone with the Sr installer. (he wasnt there yesturday)

he told me the car is still not gone yet. the lady doesnt answer her phone. and we cant move it bc

1) no clutch left in the car

2) no keys to push it

3) even if we could push it out bay is at the top of a steep slope.

thats why i dont wanna go to bb for any work...

drive it in, tow it home....

ok op you ****!

i as well am an installer and i know for a fact that it is not the customers job to get the radio code no matter what. Even if you didnt cause the radio to code its nothing a few phone calls and some information cannot cure especially with mitsubishi.

It's called a tow-truck, she can get one and have the ****** fixed and get her audio worked on today if she wanted.

WTF? what does computers have to do with anything? Did I mention i have class 4 optimus prime knowledge of computers..i never even mentioned anything about computers.

Heh, you guys are fvcked. Have it towed if need be and owner will have to worry about the expenses. But I blame your manager. If something is wrong with the vehicle beforehand and if it were to interfere with anything, he shouldn't have accepted the job. I wouldn't have.

it needed the code before it even came to us

how is that our problem?

and i actually laughed at the drive to bby

and youll have to tow it home

im at my school library and laughed pretty loud.

i got the //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif look.

Stats-factory Infinity system

sony amp (idr model red amp)

sony subs (red ones)

Bandpass box

for the record i did not recomend this set up nor is it in my car.

all the following was done between 10-12noon yesturday

( my appointment never showed so we had 2 guys doing one car)

so car comes into Best Buy and me and my fellow installer start taking out the passinger side seat to place the Inline converter after the amp

(inline converter brand- Installers Edge (rockford off brand))

wire it up put the seat back in.

take out factory radio and wire the remote turn on wire to the decks acc. wire.

while i ran the power cable down the drivers side my other installer is doing the ground.

( i dont know where he put the ground keep in mind)

after the ground was done he ran the rca's and i put the radio console back together.

while doing the Inline Converter we unplugged the factory amp and the radio lost power, and needed a code.

after the install was completly done. i told the young lady that she needed to get the code from a Mitsu dealer and come back with it so i can program it in for her.

while working on the car i noticed the smell of burnt clutch, very badly burnt clutch.

i brought this up, and she told me she just bought it 2 weeks ago and learned 5 speed on it. she knew aboupt the clutch and was getting it replaced tomarrow AM.

i pull the car out of the bay and tell my self id be surprised if it last that long. it was that bad.

when i closed the door to get out of the car i heard the subs "pop" like a bass note just went threw the amp. i was like WTF!! the radio is turned off and the car was running.

i told her this also.

she came back at 2;30 pm and told me the dealer gave her the code and told her how to put it in and that BBY broke the radio becuase it should say code on the display but the display was out... Blown fuse...

i pull the car into the bay after doing the check list and then as soon as i open the hood she goes OMG I HAVE TO PICK UP MY KID FROM SCHOOL I NEED MY CAR...

so i go umm ok back it out of the bay again and realize that the clutch barly works. tell her this and i get i kno i kno i will get it fixed tomarrow. i tell her she might want to do it today before its to late. she resonds with no no i want to get my stereo working tis more important //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif what is she //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif i think so

well she sauid shell be back at 7 pm to have it all fixed...tell her ok and that ill see her then.

7PM

pull the car in and the clutch is even worse! WTF how can some one destroy it that bad in 2 weeks?

well i look in the car and i see a PENNY in the cig lighter.pull it out replace fuse and WALA everythign lights back up...

problems that still exsist

-i put the code they gave me in the radio -> it ended up locking the radio

-when ever you hit the driver door the subs "bump"

---->how the **** is that [possible...no wires even ran to the door..even the remote wire was ran down the pass side.

im looking at the driver door more closly and i realize the door is a differnt sahde then the hood and the hatch...i look closer and realize the car was TBONED and the hole driver side is pretty much bondo...

tell her the install is fine nothing we did to cause the problem take it up with thte dealer you bought it from....

DUN DUN DUN

im pulling it out of the bay and WAAAALAAA the clutch goes and it wont move any where...i looked at her and said see i told you the clutch was more important then the audio system...she crys "what am i going to do"

haha **** that sucks.

parks the car in the BBY parking lot over night. i told her to prey no one steal her rims lol...

what a day that was.
nowhere does it say it needed a code before you guys and either way how would you test the install?

I understand now that it needed the code beforehand, however, it's not that tough to call Mitsu and ask them for it. It saves the owner from having to drive to the dealership and getting the code.

That would have been too much like work.

I guess they're not being paid whatever they get per hour to do that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Hell, the last time I went to a Best Buy was just tagging along with a friend that needed to buy a radio adapter, after sending us outside the install bay they conveniently forgot to unlock the door...very nice.

but you guys needing a radio harness was not their problem as it was an issue before you got there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Or perhaps, they told you they can get you the radio adapte but then give you something completely different and you look at them like the idiots they are, since their response is "you have to go to the manufacturer for that, they are the only one's who sell it."
