is there any way to restore them?

Are you sure the computer isnt in safe mode? Check the Recycling bin.. Or you might be able to do a system restore from a couple days ago and see if you get them back.

nah not safe mode the g-card is functional. not in recycling bin either.

Start-all programs-accessories-system tools-system restore.

although I don't think that'll fix it, it wouldn't hurt to try.

Firefox > any browser. Although FF 1.5 has a fuckload of problems. Memory leaks and it doesnt like playing videos or music currectly. Peice-o-crap. Stay 1.0 something if you get Firefox or have it.

If you have a previous checkpoint, yeah.

Firefox 1.5 is fine, I use it as my main browser (even on my Mac)... at least it's not Internet Explorer! You can't lose bookmarks because of a bad shutdown, there has to be another cause.

I had firefox and opera side by side on my computer....I hated it to death. And then I uninstalled it and it died.

Bookmarks are stored in:

%appdata%\Opera\Opera8\profile\opera6.adr

so if that file ain't there or is empty, it's gone.
