Couple Questions

1 - I went to a local shop to get a quote on an install and the guy hadn't even heard of American Bass. I asked if he would wire the subs at 1 ohm to the amp, and he said he stopped doing that years ago because he would get a lot of amps shutting down because they weren't stable. I told him it was 1 ohm stable, he said he would wire it, just that he normally only does it on higher end amps (like hifonics). Should I be worried about him installing it given his lack of knowledge on the brand? I don't think it would actually be this guy installing it, and I can't imagine there is too much he (they) can do to irreversibly mess up the installation, but I am getting closer and closer to just installing everything myself...Just that im lazy as ****...Anyway, he said they could do everything for at/under $200 (subs into box, wiring, deck, microphone, usb cable, you name it), does that sound like a fair price?

2 - With the combination of a VFL 100.1 and two TNT1244's, will I have to worry about blowing my subs at all? I figured I should ask before I get everything up an running. I would rarely be playing them at full blast so I don't see myself running into this issue, but should the need ever arise where I do, I would like to know what (if any) my limits are.

why not try to get one of the sd members on the forum here to do your install. this guy has no clue what he's doing ,especially if hr says hifonics is high end.run away fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, and I'm trying to think of how to word this to make sense...But in the process of wiring the subs down to 1 ohm, I will be connecting + to + and - to - on each sub and then connecting each of those + to + and - to -, and then bring it to the amp. Now, after connecting each subs + to +, - to -, can I then connect that first match up to the terminal on the box, and do the second match up on the outside of the box, or is that advised against?

I understand how I am wiring it, my question is that after connecting the two voice coils on the sub, can i connect the wire to the terminal inside the box, and do the second connection between the subs themselves on the outside of the box?

ALSO....So many questions lol. The bigger wiring is what came with my knu wiring kit, the smaller wiring came in the box, will that cause a bottle neck and need to be swapped out to match the kit gauge?

I run the same size wiring throughout for that speaker/no splicing,or different wiring, so I know Im getting the same flow constant/as well as confident of the brand /size being used/size.

I understand how to wire it, I'm just making sure (I'm pretty sure its okay) that if I were to make that second connection between the two different subs themselves, OUTSIDE the box, instead of inside, that it wouldnt cause any issues..

That makes sense, which is why I'm asking in the first place, but if someone can tell me with confidence that it makes no difference, I would believe it, and it would save me some unnecessary effort.

I wouldnt get that guy to install anything in my vehicle, actually,I havent let anyone wire anything in any of my vehicles since 1990,and that was due to a time issue/working 16+hrs a day 7days week for 2yrs.Its not rocket science, and taking the time to read, and ask questions, and confidence ,you can do yourself/or as someone has mentioned..a Forum member may help with just help out with gas expenses, or maybe some Lunch even?

You can wire inside or outside the box,it really doesnt pose an issue..As Long As the Impedance is correct, and trying to achieve/Stable

If you were Sponsered, I would consider the Change,as Sponsers want you to use theyre product, but I feel that you will be just fine, as long as its the same Ga wiring(10,12?)
