Couple of questions

Okay, I have a couple of questions. First lemme tell you my setup. I have an old (1995) Sony head unit and a Kenwood 600w 4ch amp bridged. I have a JL 12W1 in a sealed enclosure.

1. When I turn the volume up my sub hits hard but the sound level seems to be barely more than when I have the volume turned down low. I dont hear a whole lot of vibrating (i only have one sub) so I dont know if the car is vibrating and I just can't hear it and I need some dynamat or if something else is wrong.

2. If I were to buy a HU with 4v preouts would that increase the actual wattage that I get out of my amp? If not then what is the significants of the voltage of the preouts?

Well the amp amplifies the signal of the preout so basically the lower the preout voltage, the more noise and the less potential volume. Does your headunit have a seperate sub volume control? Some headunits control sub and speaker volumes seperately.

no my head unit only has a rear preout and the only controls it has are the bass, treble, fade, and balance. would it be worth it to put dynamat in my trunk?

how are the subs positioned? when i faced mine back the trunk rattled like a *****, as it seems to do in all camrys of the same generation... however when i faced them forward with the seats down it wasnt a problem

Well I cant put my back seat down because i have passengers quite often. I'll just put some dynamat in there cuz I plan on getting two more tens anyway. thanks for tryin to help though.
