About to put some components in my doors and had some questions about best practice.
Will an mdf ring perform better than a manufactured pvc adapter plate (6x8 converted to 6.5" round)? When you guys are mounting mdf rings do you just screw into the metal of the door? Do you use the existing holes the stock speaker was mounted in? IF so, how do you line that up?
I read in another thread just now that door should be sealed as much as possible when deadening. Is this true? How do you go about sealing a door with lots of holes? My door panel has tabs that go into holes in the metal of the door, what can I do for these holes also as they can't be covered over?
OH, and i just saw in a thread that's it's not good to install deadening in cold weather, is this true? Why would it be? The adhesion isn't as good?
