I dont get what you're asking but if your asking if you can take your alternator out of your car and replace it with another battery.... then the answer is NO! The alternator under your hood is part of your charging system and without it what is going to charge your battery? If you ever had your alternator fail on you while you're driving your car you'll know what im talking about. Your car will only get you as far as your battery still has juice to power your electrical system.

No im not retarded im talking about a seperate battery to power the subs. If you hook to much power to your battery it will run your alternator down because it cant charge the battery fast enough. so i thought you might be able to just get a hole seperate battery. My friend had 4 w6 in the back of his caprice and there was a small battery looking thing in the back by them. I know he hasnt bought a new regular battery or a better alternator so asking if you can or cant use a seperate battery to power subs.Now my other question was at what measure of electricity would you need a new alternator or bigger regular battery power your subs without your subs running your battery down.

I may be wrong, but theorhetically I think its when your voltage drops below 12 or so. If the lights dim on heavy bass notes that's a sign. Adding a second battery may be a temporary fix, but I think the power comes from your alt. So if you're trying to choose between a battery and an alternator, you might get away with the bigger battery, but the better alternator is always the safe bet. The batteries have to get charged somehow...

Depending on power you might get away with the Big 3 and another secondary battery. And then I would go from there. Big 3 should be done either way.
