Could two 12" Type-Rs take 1500 RMS?

I was just wondering if two 12" Type-Rs (2nd generation 600 watt RMS versions) could take 750 watts RMS each? I bought a 1500 watt amp and I'm not sure how hard I can push these Type-Rs.

I already have one Sundown SA-12 and I'm waiting to get another because I heard those can take 750 easily but until then I'll be using my Type-Rs.

yep. Though your enclosure will affect that as well, but it really shouldn't be a problem.

Sure can, I just sold my 2 12" 600W Type R's and had them powered by an APSM 1500

It will be user dependent. You can blow them on rated power if you clip it bad enough. I ran a pair on a MMatts 3000 and had no problems.

Technically they will most likely receive less than what their rms is after impedance rise, so they will be fine, assuming the amp is set properly and there is no user error.

What is the amp though? Make sure it can do that 1500 clean; to do that you want to make sure your electrical is all good too

Thanks for the information guys.

And it's the Hifonics ZRX1500.1D.

I believe both my power and ground cables are 4 gauge, the packaging said they were good up to 1600 watts.
