well, that's your prerogative, there's obviously going to be divided opinions on 'music rentals'
but my musical tastes are constantly evolving, and expanding, so i personally love being able to grab an entire album, or a song here or there, just on a whim
plus, i know most people wouldn't really care about this, but rhapsody and napster have everything divided into countless genres and subgenres, as well as having recommendations, and even recommended songs to help you get into new music, or find related artists, etc.
this is trivial, i realize, but napster even has billboard lists back to the 60's, top 100 albums, top 100 singles quarterly, etc. etc. which sounds pretty useless, until you start browsing through, and finding TONS of music you completely forgot about, i loved that feature when i was using napster.
Not to mention it's legal, all files are perfect quality, there's NEVER fake files, NEVER run out of sources, and the download speeds are FAST and CONSISTANT
i'll admit there's some quirks still (if your subscription runs out, your files become unplayable, even after you renew) which may or may not have already been taken care of (i haven't used these services since my mp3 player broke)
and i'm not gonna try and sell you on it, you're free to do as you like, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice no to atleast check out rhapsody-25, which is 100% free, honest to god, you just register your e-mail adress and a password, and you can listen to 25 songs a month for free.
