corrosion questions.

Can corrosion cause your battery to depleat and die? a while back i had bad corrosion on my positive battery post, possibly a bad connection with the power wire? but could that have drained my battery? and what are some ways of preventing corrosion. i know how to get it off, but how do i prevent it? and what are the best ways to get a good connection with the post and the power wire?

ya corrosion is not good for your battery. just check it every so often and make sure its clean. you can also put some grease on it i believe...but that can be kind of messy looking.
