Cooler sound system.

Ok, cant seem to find it on Amazon so guess if I got that amp id have to buy it from them. So I could run speakers of that but what about a sub? Would I need to wire 2 4 ohm speakers down to 2 ohms and bridge the last 2 channesl to 250? Leaves only $100 for sub and speakers.

So I was thinking 4 Pioneer TS-A6965R. have decent reviews and are a good price but now I gotta figure out the sub. Will a 250 watt sub be loud enough?

Id ditch the sub idea and get two 10in pa speakers ported around 70hz and focus on midbass build a crossover to pair with a single quality horn driver for highs. Pair it with a small 50w x2 amp should,be very loud and sound decent while having great battery life.

Ok here is the reason we want to build this, Most of us who tailgate like bass. Some more than others. People like me and my buddies cant run our systems for long without having the engine running. I can pop all 4 doors open on my truck and blast music loud for awhile but my subs would have to be unplugged. I really dont want to ditch the sub idea unless its useless.

pick up a cheap o mtx or bla 4 chan used here on the fourms for $80

get a cheap 10" subwoofer that only takes 200w rms and build it a box like this - sealed but slanted down fire - so that it has its own baffle to bounce the sound wave off of to reflect at you - as a side note this type of enclosure will keep your sub "safer" from getting poked or smashed up. this is probably your best bet at getting bass to sound loud and like bass without being inside of a room or a viechle.

then just fab up some type of make shift enclosure to mount on each side - or use crappy 6x9 pods - or attach sealed back mids to the thing....

if your super cheap and hurting for cash

you can steal some batterys out of the emergency lights inside of most big wearhouse type buildings. some are 12v some are 6v either will work if you find 6 volts you obviously have to jumper them in pairs to get 12v.

here is a crappy setup i did with those type of batterys - i diddnt steal them tho i trash picked them during construction remodel of a old publix ( grocery store )

Oh ok. Yea I can afford the batteries. I mean, How loud would just 2 6x9's get? Im thinking 4 will be plenty but not sure about 2. The problem is, with the linked amp id only have 250 watts going to the sub. Would that even be that loud? I will port the box and go make something for it to load on.

batterys are the key here - you want to run a 400 watt system off just batterys your going to need 80 pounds worth of batterys in the thing to make it last more than an hour before needing recharge...

think about how heavy this thing is going to be once its built ...

the big box i did with home stereo speakers and just 1 kenetik 800 battery was so dang heavy i could barely pick the thing up by myself ( it was alkward size shape)

Candence has a nice little 5 channel for like $159 on ebay. I used one for awhile it was a great budget 5 channel
Yea but that eats up all the money. Im putting foward $20 for this and getting others to chip in. I really wanna stay around $200 total.

From what I have seen online, people were running them off lawn mower batteries. Granted, a few didnt have subs but they were running like 700 watts.

EDIT: What about a 500 watt 2 channel amp and 1 500 watt monoblock? Would that be cheaper?

You could pick up some sony explod stuff for next to nothing. You would have no problem getting the speakers and amp for 100 used. It's crap but for this project, the price is right. Boss audio is at least a small step above Pyle of crap and they sell amp and sub packages. By no means would I let this stuff on my property, but it's effective for tailgating.

Just get a ppi 900.4 solid amp. Best for the money or you can a ppi 900.5 and run a sub and door speakers on it.
Like when I say $200, I mean $200. That amp leaves no money for anything.
