Cool new part for Sundown Z v.2

he is powder clear coating it. raw alum will ox quick if left to the elements.

unless it is 6061 alum i machined a bracket to hold a retractable 16' leash to attach to my house to hook the dog up so he can go in and out and it's been there 2 yrs looks new...

you say to expensive.

alumin even the highest grade like aircraft grade in that small amount is prob 2-4 max

and to machine those on a cnc mill same maybe a few bucks so say $5-10 to put one on thats cheap

I dont know if the process ot install on when building the subwoofer overall costs alot but i odnt see it being that much?

Lets do the math...

The full MSRP of the SA-8 is $149 -- ONE PART costing 5-10% of the full MSRP price (not to mention what % of build cost / dealer cost that is) doesn't make sense to me on an entry level woofer.

For the record... the exact piece I have here for the Z v.2 costs $18 each. I can probably get it down a bit with quantity but I started with 100 pc run.

On a driver that is much more expensive like the Z v.2 that cost is justifiable, IMO.

wow that is cheap for that part.

some people have no clue about machining. those pieces were spun out on a BIG cnc lathe then a fixture made probley just a plug that holds from the center with a 3/8 bolt then the holes milled.

i would have guessed $30-35 per part but depends on tolerences + -.005? labor rate at a big shop up here is $80hr min.

These local guys do a good job for me for a good price -- I plan to keep dealing with them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Only makes sense to use those who have proven themselves, kind of like Sundown //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looks great Jake, keep up the good work, when those 8's come out, I'm all over one for the other car.

Kef

The motors are done for the Z v.2 -- as are the spiders and cones.

They should be shipped shortly... once they get on the water ~4 weeks to get to me.

That will give me time to get the coils done and whatnot.
