So I go into CC yesterday and I was looking for some more sound deadner. (Got some dynomat for free have a few bugs to work out). Found some overpriced sh8t and I decided to get into a convo with him. I told him what I was running and all this crap and bla bla. Well hence I have the CC plan I asked him if he had any 4 dual ohm subs. He pointed me over to the Comp Vr. Thats it.

Then I was like well do you have anything else and all that crap. I was like I want to run my amp @2 to get more power (max) power out of it. He was like. "Dude its not gona change anything, trust me you won't get any more power out of your amp." So I took him over to the amp I was talking about and pointed to the different power ratings. He was still like no its all fake. I was like WTF //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif . I was like dude its CEA2006 rated. He said "that doesnt mean shit man. Then I was like bullshit and he got all pissy so I finally agreed with him and walked out.

So what he said is not true right? I mean I'm just so **** confused and want to get a straight answer.

I am running a Bazooka ELA 500.1 (gets the job done).

The specs are 350 @ 4ohm and 550 @ 2ohm. CEA2006 Rated. Their still selling last year's model. I dunno why.

So was this ***** wrong.

lol gotta love the people they hire at CC.... ohh wait didnt req just get a job at CC? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Yea I guess I was noobified. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Thanks for clearing that up.

It's not "bridged down", just a lower impedance...

PG Tantrum's do that (between 2 and 4 ohms), Xenon's do it between 1 and 4 ohms...

The JL Slash series is stable between 1.5 and 4 ohms, IIRC.

not everyone is an idiot at retail stores. just people who THINK they know what they are talking about, and all the info they get is from hearsay, or observations they have had.

sales people dont really need to know that much about audio that much, they just need to be able to sell a pair of speakers. and telling people these things (that often are wrong) get them to spend money.

dont worry about it. the kid is misinformed, let it go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

hahah it's just like I was in BB yesterday looking at cell phones and this guy was telling me how awsome this one phone was and I was like cool cool how many colors does the screen have.. and he said the standard vga colors.. so I told him that no some phones have worse and some have better color rating. and then asked if I could look at the box to see.. well when he went to go get the keys he mumbled it's not going to say on the box so I acted like I did hear that.. and he got the box wouldn't let me see it and read it himself.. said oh it has 62k colors. I was like oh.. that sucks then.. this one here has 262k colors.. guess you were wrong. and walked away. stupid tards.

Very true...they are sales people - not technicians. And CC (or any other company) will focus their training on sales techniques and "saving the sale" crap rather than tech info. From my experience, the sales guys who know their stuff are people who learn it on their own away from work.

actauly in a way he is correct.

The amp creates the same power when not bridged as bridged. However it is able to send more of it's power to speakers with less impedence (resistance). So technicaly he is right about the amp not making more power, and you were right about utilizing the amp the the fullest, by using a load with less resistance. Power is kinda relative to the load the amp is seeing, but the amp could care less if it is bridged or not, assuming it is stable for the load given.

But when your speakers are using more impeedence less of the power is utilized.

So this statement is False He was like. "Dude its not gona change anything, trust me you won't get any more power out of your amp." Cause that is exactly what you would be doing lol.

Not to nitpick, but...

I am running a Bazooka ELA 500.1 (gets the job done) The specs are 350 @ 4ohm and 550 @ 2ohm.
Where'd ya get those ratings? Bazooka's website states 375 @ 4 Ohms / 500 @ 2 Ohms

I was like "Dude, it's CEA2006 rated." He said "that doesnt mean shit man."
they preach those cea ratings to us, i don't know how someone could say they are bull shit.
CEA2006 isn't a rating. It is a ratings standard...and a voluntary one at that. Each audio equipment manufacturer can, at their discretion, choose to follow the published guidelines or not. If you see the CEA2006 compliance seal on a given product it simply means that the unit benchtested to produce at or better than rated performance. CEA2006 compliant equipment will have RMS power output @ rated THD%, S/N ratio, etc meet or exceed the manufacturer's published ratings. It doesn't have anything to do with how big or how little that output may be...simply that it will do what the box/manual says it will do.

simply that it will do what the box/manual says it will do.
exactally. if the box says 500@2, then you will get 150w more than you would using a 4ohm load, getting 350w.

the guy prolly just thought you were some dumb kid, and didnt care if he got a sale or not.
