and using my 860mp as a active x-over. Anyone else doing this? Also, how hard is it to tweak the system? I'm a little intimidated, is it that hard or is it easy enough that even an amature can handle it?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Quite honestly; it's not something for an amature to attempt IMHO.

It sounds easy. But in reality, there is a lot you need to know and understand in order to adjust everything for optimal performance

So, that's it? Anyone else have an opinion on this? I understand it's not going to be easy, but I thought it might still be fun to try.

I'm in the process of going active. It might be fun at first, but it takes a long time to set it up and to tune it. You have to know what you're doing at least a little bit. My system sounds a little better than it did before, so it might be worth it.

All I really need is an amp for the tweets. I can pick one up for fairly cheap, so I'm going to go for it. I hope your all ready for a lot of questions!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif

Head unit: Pioneer Premier 860mp

Front Stage: RE RE comps with CDT 1" silk tweets

Rear Fill: 5 1/4" infinity coax's ( If I go active these will be cut off)

Sub: RE SE 12" in a custom ABC box( man I love this sub!)

Amps: MTX Thunder 500D (sub), MTX Thunder 302 (comps)

and all of the wiring and stuff.

I'm looking to pick up a MTX Thunder 152 to compliment the other two amps to run the tweets active. Really I'm pretty much set if I get the 152. I know wiring it up will be a breeze, I'm just concerned with the x-over points and the slopes and stuff. I guess if I absolutley hate it I can always go back to passive, but I'm kinda looking forward to trying out different set ups with different drivers and tweets and the such.
