connecting the switch on wire of the DVD player onto the remote wire of the cd player

i have this head unit and i'll get a DVD... but i want the DVD only to turn on when the cd player is on.. is there a problem in doing so? let me know, plz

keep in mind the cd player already has the wire connected to an amplifier

Just use a relay wired to the head unit's remote output to supply switched power to the DVD player.

can i connect it without the relay? it will be triggering both amplifier and dvd remotes... is this more than the remote wire from the cd player can manage? or are you recommending me using a relay for safety only?
