im putting my car in competition in February

and my friend and i are deciding which will be loudest

now look at the prices they both come out about equal

but we need some expert opinions on which setup to get

I'd tend to think cone area would win on this one, although the mt's are beastly. Personally, for the money I think you can do better on the amp maybe something like an audioque 2200 for $389 shipped

umm not exacly sure but its in a 96 monte carlo i mean its a big trunk around 8 cubic feet 10 tops

i measured its 8 cubic feet for sure but 10 total cause i have trunk latches that come down when you close the trunk

The SXs will be louder than the single 15" MT will be... SXs don't need huge boxes ported either, my loudest when a ran a 15 was 3.5ft3 @ 34hz w/ 50sq in port(loudest daily box).

 

x2 on what Terra said, seems like its external and in that case u prolli won't have enough room for 2 15s.

External means the actual measurements you took in the trunk... Before you factor in wood, sub displacement, and port displacement.

I have no idea what you're even trying to say... Rephrase this using sum commas/periods and then we might be able to help u out.

But its not just equipment that wins competitions and puts up big numbers bro. You have to have a good amount of knowledge to build/install(unless ur bringing it to a shop w/ experience) and electrical to back up the system.

my friend is the one that is building my box and installing

he's the one with the knowledge im just helping install, but if anything needs to be detailed he's the one doing it

i was asking if you knew anymore sub(s) that are about $1000 or less that are worthy

If so then RE SX, FI SSD, IA LI, SSA Icon, Type-R, Kicker L7, DC LVL 3 or 4, DD 2500, etc.

 

Tons that fall into that category. 2 DC LVL4 15s would be a pretty sick setup in that price range.
