Confused: Door deadening

I used a whole role of peel and seal on one door. I put some on both sides of the inside, outside, etc. It isn't completely covered but the closer to the speaker you get, the thicker the deadening (double layers). I still get a bit of rattling.

a) do i need 2 or more layers atleast to notive a difference?

b) do i need to cover every square inch of the door on the inside part of the door as well as out with multiple layers?

Depends.

The first thing you need to do is locate the actual source of the rattling.

After you have determined the source, you can begin to investigate remedies.

alright, it is coming from the window (and its various mechanical parts) or the metal parts inside the door. Which i cannot deaden over or i can't role (yes role) my window up. I have a '91 (yes '91) nissan nx 2000.

so in order to eliminate this type of rattling, do i need to deaden more near the speaker so the force of the bass isn't reaching the source of the rattling?

maybe you can put some foam where the rattle comes from.

The inner door has a support bar that extends all the way across. Make sure to slide something behind it. It solved the rattles in my b13.... You could use deadner but is rather difficult to shove it in there without it sticking.
