i have a emachines t2862 desktop it always has worked fine the other day i went to turn it on and it wont turn on i changed the power supply and its not that the motherboard lights up, so what else should i look for to try to fix this, is it possible the switch went bad or what

Thanks

do you have some extra ram memory around or a friend that may have some to try??? if you have two sticks in there try taking one out then the other to make sure it's not those.... if not it is probably your motherboard that has fried or taken it's last breath...

If you pressed the button and the fans didn't boot up, it's your motherboard or switch.

Period.

No 'ands' 'ifs' or 'buts.'

You can run the fans even if you don't have RAM, a PSU, GPU, or a HD.

that a pic of the inside where is the stuff yall are talking bout taking out

i found this online what if i do this

With the power off on the power supply, you can reach inside the case and find the 20/24 pin main power cable to the mainboard. Disconnect that, and find the green wire, which should be the fourth down on one side. Turn the main power switch on on the power supply, then use a paperclip to short the pin on the green signal wire to one of the black wires next to it. If the power supply fans come on, the problem is the main board or processor. If it does nothing, the power supply is the fault.

Make sure you get the right wire, there should be only one green one, and all of the black wires are the same, so any one of them will work.

If the motherboard is the problem and you replace the PC, you can install your old hard drive in the new computer and access your files.

seems like others have agreed with my thoughts.... by the way it's acting i'd say unfortunately you're out of luck... that's the problem with proprietary systems.... you can rarely add in just one component like a motherboard.... is it still on warranty???
nope not me i have searched and see alot of people have this problem
