componet speaker bass distortion with 2 channel amp

I just installed this component at the shop today and i dont why but i hear distortion in the woofer, my infinity 6010cs better than this, the guy who installed says my amp better for sub not component, i should get 4 channel amp to help/solve the problem, is this true?:

so anyone know whats the problem? I only set the gain at 40% and when i cranked up the volume(above 40) it still distort

what do you have your crossovers set at?

have no idea, i didnt do the installation, i brought the car to the shop

well since you paid for the installation you should probably have them look at it and fix the problem. your speakers are most likely crossed too low so its trying to play frequencies that it cant handle.
