Component suggestion

Wow that's what I'm talking about. I just love the highs not really harsh per se just bright. I mostly listen to country so it's the acoustic guitar I guess that I want the highs for. Hard to explain .
I know what you mean. After using nothing but silk dome tweeters forever I'm now using CDT aluminum tweeters. They're the top end model, DRT-26A. This tweeter design has a patented mounting system that lets you swap tweeters very quickly. Besides silk and aluminum they also have titanium. I have the titanium tweeters but I've not yet tried them. I listen to a lot of metal and these aluminum tweeters are just perfect for making those small cymbals and cymbal crown hits pop.

Vifa xt25 must be on-axis, so make sure you can mount them that way. Otherwise output will suffer a LOT.

Could also consider 2 tweeters per A pillar since you seem to like a lot of top end. I run 2 vifa neo's per side in the daily, mostly because I had them laying around as 1 would have been sufficient.

As for PA stuff, I've been running it for 3- 4 years now in several different set ups. AQ supertweeter has a very full bodied sound and can get very loud. Can also be shrilly if you throw too much power at it. I run those daily in the wife's set up and they sound very good and easily keep up with 4 6.5" PA mids.

PA still gets a bad rap for some reason even though they're the same speakers you hear at a big concert or small blues/jazz club. If done right they can sound very good, if done wrong they can sound like total ***.

Because most people who you see using PA systems have it set up to just be loud. Don't you find it trickier to tune PA equipment for SQ, though? I know HLCDs can sound great in a car setup as long as the right thought goes into location, install, and tuning, but I'm not sure if most DIYers want to take the time for that...

I run active and can FG anything, so install isn't an issue for me. But my version of SQ is more how they sound, not stage height, imaging, etc...

So with that in mind I've had very good luck running PA stuff as they can sound very good, although somewhat aggressive at times. I run Klipsch horns in the HT, so I probably prefer that sound...

Good for you, man. I've personally never been able to stand Klipsch's view on treble. I run Pio's Andrew Jones-designed LCRs and center and those tweets are super laid back. Guess I'm just a fan of warmer sound. I do like my tunes realistic, don't get me wrong, but I can't handle ringing and sibilance. I can consider a lot of people's tunes as "overly bright" long before my friends do.

I can also relate to tuning more for accuracy than staging. I've been playing with TA for staging, but finally decided to just go for best phase relationship to the sub so I don't kill my midbass. I can now run the EQ flat without having to deal with the tweets clashing with each other. But, then again, I also run passive so it's the nature of the beast.

Being older and having worked in a few loud environments years ago my hearing isn't what it used to be. I was always a fan of laid back tweeters, but over the last 8-10 years I've moved towards horns and metal domes. I've never had any sibilance with the Klipschs, and in the car taming down 12.5Khz usually cures that on most tweeters. I don't like overly bright, but do enjoy some good top end sparkle. I listen to a lot of 80's metal, so crashing cymbals need to have some impact.

I mainly run active so I can choose whatever drivers I want. I used to mess with TA a lot more, but that never impressed me as much as the sound coming out of the speakers or the actual song.
